West Chester

West Chester is in the SW corner of Butler County, Ohio. West Chester has experienced tremendous population growth in the last 20 years.

In West Chester and Liberty Township, people take pride in their community.  They also enjoy the proximity and easy access to a variety of cultural and recreational opportunities: the rolling agricultural Ohio land dotted with quaint towns and villages.

Beckett Park is a 150-acre property located in the heart of the Union Centre business district. 2006-2007 construction includes a lake, parking areas, walking paths, and soccer fields. Future phases of development will feature playgrounds, additional walking paths, additional athletic facilities and more. The park is currently home to The West Chester Baseball Complex. The Baseball Complex features four 4 tournament-quality baseball fields, concession stand, dugouts, press box and restroom facilities.

Keehner Park is a 123-acre established park property nestled along the east fork of the Mill Creek. Acquired in 1976, Keehner Park features extensive woodland trails following the creek, as well as playgrounds, athletic fields, mountain bike trail and picnic shelters. The Keehner Park Amphitheater is home to the Fifth Third West Chester Concert Series and other outdoor performances throughout the spring and summer months.

Upper Mill Creek conservation Corridor is a 300-acre wetland park following the Mill Creek and the former Miami Erie canal from State Route 747 to the Township line and connecting with the Gilmore Ponds Interpretive Preserve in Fairfield. The Corridor features the 1.55-mile paved Port Union Historic Canal Trail from State Route 747 to the Township boundary. The 10-foot wide multi-purpose trail can accommodate bicycles, roller blades, walkers, and joggers and is handicapped accessible.

Urban Park is a contemporary outdoor living space for West Chester. The community’s town square at Union Centre is an approximately 3-acre recreational area combining hard-scape and landscape to create a high-energy gathering space for the community. The urban-style park is located across from Lakota West High School on West Chester Road and will have an 80-foot tall clock tower as its centerpiece. The park features a stage area for after-work concerts and lunch-time entertainment, fountains, grassy areas, benches, and a lake.
